Back in the day, Jay Ryan was one of only 2 other people (besides myself) that i knew of in Chicago who were screen printing our concert posters. Steve Walters was the other. Steve was like the “patient zero” (in a good way) for all of us. There’s a lineage in Chicago screen printing that all seems to stem from Steve and his shop.
Jay is good people. Crazy talented, ultra-nice, good people. This video is awesome. Makes me wish I still lived back in Chicago. Check out birdmachine.com when you have time. Your eyeballs will thank you.
This just put a smile on my face, and I needed one. Jay is one among my favorite creative people on this here planet, and an influence on what I do. One of the highlights of my 2005 Chicago trip was meeting him face to face, as we had only known each via good ol’ gigposters.com. He took me to Hot Doug’s, and I regret not getting any pictures of that moment.
