Should I?

I asked whether I should shut down my other blog a little while ago, and got a grand total of two responses, which I kinda expected, because I’m not exactly Tumblr sexy.
(cue wry smile)

Luckily, the responses came from folks I admire, so let’s address ‘em!

Good point, sir. I think the difference between MySpace and Tumblr is that Tumblr has been user-friendly and not constantly broken like MySpace from day one for me. Yeah, there was a bit of a learning curve, but it was tiny. I initially found Tumblr repulsive due to the petty, mean-spirited nature of blogs like Unfollow Friday (which in a more ruthless earlier incarnation was very rude to my friend Aggie), but I jumped into the abyss anyway. Now I’m on Tumblr every day, all day.

I don’t do it all the time, but I’ve cross-posted a few blog posts from The Place Where Al Dwells…, and perhaps I should do it a little more. Thanks for the suggestion, man.

Still thinkin’ about it. I think it’s mainly about streamlining my creative energy. I’ve used TPWAD as a spot to go off at length since I joined Tumblr, and Tumblr’s been my place to post things in a stream of consciousness fashion – and look at n00dz. And dope illustration. And corgis.

But mostly n00dz.

However, the unintentional theme of this blog has pretty much been solidified as “shining light on things I love and giving creators proper credit,” and I’m particularly tired of the latter portion of that. The thing is, it may never stop because I’m driven to correct such wrongs, and people won’t stop fucking up.

Before I go further, I should say that I have NO IDEA why lack of attribution drives me so crazy, but it does. I really need to apply this sort of drive to other aspects of my life. I’d be much better off.

I gotta get off this high horse. The air is thin up here.

In short, I need to diversify my content, stop beatin’ the same ol’ drum, and concentrate my writing energy. Killin’ the old blog might be the answer.
